RESO Updates
In September of this year, Imagine MLS will be converting all its property types to the Real Estate Standards Organization Data Dictionary 2.0 (RESO DD 2.0) standard. These changes include:
- Rent/Lease becoming Residential Lease
- Multi-family becoming Residential Income
- Land – Farm/Land being divided into Land and Farm
- Comm/Prof/Ind being divided into Commercial Sale and Commercial Lease
- Commercial Land no longer being a property type. The standard Land property type would be used in place of Commercial Land.
Please note that this change was made to standardize all data in preparation for future partnerships with technology vendors and other MLSs. Nationwide and historically, RESO has established the standard for real estate data fields and definitions. Imagine MLS is already compliant with the RESO Data Dictionary 1.7 and aims to achieve 2.0 certification with this transition in September.
A short list of some of the beneficial changes to the MLS and input fields:
- Increased public remarks character limit
- More architectural styles
- Added horse amenities
- Added showing considerations (safety fields)
- Added more exterior features
- Removed requirement for total # of rooms, requiring only kitchen, primary bedroom, and living room now - added optional fields for width/length
- Special attention paid to other property types - Farm, Commercial, etc. - all have been more fleshed out and include more options, giving a better foundation for the MLS to build on.
