RESO Updates

In September of this year, Imagine MLS will be converting all its property types to the Real Estate Standards Organization Data Dictionary 2.0 (RESO DD 2.0) standard. These changes include:

  • Rent/Lease becoming Residential Lease.
  • Multi-family becoming Residential Income.
  • Land – Farm/Land is being simplified to Farm.
  • Comm/Prof/Ind being divided into Commercial Sale and Commercial Lease.
  • Commercial Land is becoming Land. Properties that would qualify for the Land property type are those that are undeveloped, unused lots.

Please note that this change was made to standardize all data in preparation for future partnerships with technology vendors and other MLSs. Nationwide and historically, RESO has established the standard for real estate data fields and definitions. Imagine MLS is already compliant with the RESO Data Dictionary 1.7 and aims to achieve 2.0 certification with this transition in September.

Flexmls Add/Edit Updates

Imagine MLS has started running the new system (imagine.flexmls.com) in parallel with the current system (lex.flexmls.com). Through September 2, subscribers have the ability to access the new format and test the functionality of adding and editing listings while checking all the information that is being converted. Below are answers to most of the important questions.

Read-Only: Friday, August 29 at Noon through Monday, September 1

  • Starting September 2, your "imagine." login will be your active account. Your "lex." login will remain read-only for two weeks.
  • No new listings, status changes, or price changes will be possible during the read-only stage.
  • Staff won’t be able to override the system during the read-only stage. Please plan ahead with your clients so they’re not caught off guard.
  • Other MLS functions (Quick Search, Subscriptions, Showings, Coming Soon Activations) will continue to work as expected.
  • Incomplete listings will not convert over to the new system.
  • Rules tied to listing timing or status changes will not apply during the read-only stage - you won’t face sanctions for delays caused by this outage.
  • Hotsheets won't update during the read-only stage since no new listings or changes can be added.

How do I log in to the new system?

  • Go to imagine.flexmls.com Username - will remain the same but with a change of the prefix from "lex." to "imagine." So if your username was lex.12345 it will now be imagine.12345.
  • Your new password will be the same as your current password

Flexmls (both the current and new system) will go read-only at Noon on Friday, August 29 through Monday, September 1. Read-only means the systems are still accessible, but adding, editing or changing listings, as well as inputting additional information, will not be available.

The new system will go live the morning of Tuesday, September 2.

What data will convert from the current system to the new system?

Any data, except listings, loaded into the current system after August 18 will not convert over to the new system and will need to be re-added on or after September 2.

  • Listings (including historical data)
  • Contacts
  • Some Saved Searches (only those where 100% of the criteria stayed the same will convert)
  • Subscriptions (if the attached Saved Search converted)
  • Portals
  • Listing Collections
  • Dashboards
  • Custom Email Templates
  • CMAs - these will PDF with copies found in My Profile > My Documents

What data will not convert from the current system to the new system?

  • Incomplete (Partial) Listings
  • Custom Search Templates, Custom Exports, Custom Views, Custom Reports/Signatures
  • Custom Map Shapes/Overlays

When will contacts and saved searches be converted into the new system?

The week of August 18. Keep in mind, any data entered into the new system after August 18, but before August 28, will also need to be entered into the current system. You will also need to manually check all your data in the new system to identify any errors that may have occurred during the conversion. NOTE: some saved searches, contacts and other data are still being converted over the next few days.

What should I be doing in the new system once I get access?

  • Look at your listing data and check for discrepancies.
  • Review converted Contacts
  • Review converted Saved Searches

What does this mean for adding my listings?

From now until August 28, you will need to input new listings you want to go active (and be syndicated) into the current system. From August 29 to September 1 you will not be able to add listing in either system. There will not be a way to publish a listing in the new system until September 2, and any listings entered in the new system before then will be placed into incomplete status. Note: all MLS numbers on active listings will remain the same.

  • Increased public remarks character limit
  • More architectural styles
  • Added horse amenities
  • Added showing considerations (safety fields)
  • Added more exterior features
  • Removed requirement for total # of rooms, requiring only kitchen, primary bedroom, and living room now - added optional fields for width/length
